Bed Rest Day 2

Well I have to say, I've been so blessed by your thoughts, prayers, and offers to help already.
A big thanks goes to John's parents who came to get Gianna and for John's mom who offered to give up her spring break so John could work "baby free" for one more week.
John stayed home from his office this morning and he basically did everything for Gianna and he said, "I'm tired!" I laughed, because it's what I used to do everyday- even when I was supposed to be "a couch potato!'
We are so blessed so much already. John's parents took Gianna. John is working this weekend to make up for future time off. John is blessed with working for himself - so he has his laptop can work anywhere and he sets his own hours.
Obviously I'll be blogging more during this time. And I might even do facebook- something that I've been putting off for a long time! :) John even prayed that his time might be a time of renewal and spiritual closeness with the Lord.

I went in for the follow up shot today to help the girls' lungs develop. We have another appointment on Monday and one on Thursday for a sonogram. We'll let you know.
What does bed rest mean?
I can't pick up Gianna at all.
I have to be laying down with little to no pressure on the pelvis unless I'm going to the bathroom, eating or performing personal hygiene (taking a shower! :)
After a month the doctor will decide what's next. I think he said a month so that I wouldn't be so daunted by more time if needed.

I have a feeling that day 29 will find me ready to pull out my eyelashes, but for now, I'm rejoicing in the fact that I did NOT have to spend the night in the hospital last night. And that I'm not having any contractions, and that tomorrow is 28 weeks- one more day closer to 36 weeks!

Bed Rest

Yup I'm on bed rest now. I'm on it for a month. But it's every woman's dream right to stay in bed while someone else does the cooking and cleaning!
They gave me a shot today to help the babies lungs and I get another one tomorrow. Now I've had shots since birth. And trust me I got a lot to even get pregnant, but folks-this one HURT!
My happy face says stay brave and it will work out. My scared side keeps remembering statistics that I've read about and seen with children with special needs who were born early.
Please join me in praying for the girls' health.

My verse for the last few weeks has been:
Consider it joy my brethren when you endure trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
James 1:2-3

Not that I'm jumping up and down for joy at this trial, but that for the joy that I know will come on the other side of it.

Take it Easy

Take It Easy-The Eagles (Live) - Watch the top videos of the week here

I don't have seven women on my mind, but I do have three. One that wants to hold me and two that want to grow me, and all will be a friend of mine. But the reason for the song is that we went to the Doctor on Friday and he didn't like what he saw going on with me and the babies. In fact "Be a couch potato" were his exact words. I go again for a check up this week. If things have not improved then I will be put on bed rest. Not exactly my idea of fun. Please pray that my body would do what it needs to do and that I will carry the girls to at least 34 weeks. I'm just at 27 now.
The up side of being a couch potato this weekend is that I finished a book and read a few magazines. The downside is that John was home and could watch Gianna all the time. Another downside is that I know I'm in hyper nesting mode and I have lots to do before the girls come. Well not really, but it FEELS like a lot. So I've be trying to pause, rest, and slow down. Because that is WAY better than not being allowed to sit up.

We go in Thursday so look for the update then!

27 weeks

This week I'll tell you exactly which one is which. Because- well, you all guess so well I can't be tricky!

This is me at 27 weeks with Gianna.

This is me at 27 weeks with the girls.

I'm not so far different in distance out (at least that's what I'm thinking! ;), but check out where I have my hands. The girls are defiantly higher up than Gianna was!

Count down is on!!!

8-10 weeks left folks!!!!! And yes I am in full nesting getting ready mode! Time is running low.
But still I decide to add more projects to my plate!
I have finished most of my photo albums that I wanted to do I just have to print out my favorite 2008 photos of Gianna. That's the year not the number of photos that I need to print out. We've already discussed that getting Gianna to take pictures is a difficult thing. I doubt that I have even 2008 pictures from the year 2008!
We got her two year portraits done and I will have to print those out as well. (I just got her one year portraits in a book! Just one year behind check how good I am!!!!!)
I have three mini sewing projects that I need to do. Not much time, but I just have to do them.
I decided to make Gianna's big girl bedding. It is a supper cute pink fabric with little gathered rosettes, and I got matching circus material for the bed skirt. Haven't fully decided on the curtains yet, and I need to get sheets that match. Why did I add this? I don't know. I guess I wanted just one more challenge to keep me going!
I have a baby shower to plan for my friend that just had her baby. We're doing a sip 'n see. That my friends is where you have the baby first and them everyone comes and gets to sip on punch and see the baby. Got it? - sip 'n see!
A bunch of little things but they have to wait. We are getting the college students to come and paint some things so I have to wait for the end of March for that. And they are painting a dresser for Gianna so that's when I'll change her "stuff" over to the big girl room. I"m going to wait until after my parents leave from their visit (after the girls are born) to change her to the big girl room because I don't want to build up this big girl bed only to have her move back to a crib for two weeks. And plus- it will be crazy anyway with twin babies. So why not add more fun to the mix?

And speaking of more fun- Gianna decided on Monday that she wanted to wear underwear. She did nothing in the potty, but she started to make some connections about what's going on. I'm not pushing it because frankly- have you seen my list above? That's one more thing and I really don't have the flexibility and mobility to be all the way committed to it. She'll get it. I'm not stressing over it.
OK, so now you know where I stand. If you see me wandering the isles of Hobby Lobby, just point me to the door so I can go home and get busy!

Did I tell you?

That we went to San Antonio this weekend to see a friend? More details and pictures soon I promise.
That I joined the twins club here in town?
That I tease on of my friends that I know through the club and from church that I get nervous when I read her blog about her toddler twins?
I added her in the links and she has some funny stories if you are ever in need of a laugh and I have not provided it for you that day. Check out Allison's blog for her adventures with double the babies.
