One time

One time a long time ago like (3 months). I had just gotten home from the hospital (for the second time) with the girls and I felt the need to do something normal with Gianna.
You see Gianna and I walked almost everyday of her life for 2 and 1/2 years. I needed something to do when I was a new mommy and we have a park not to far from us- so we walked.
I senced that Scooter needed a walk so I took him along. He went with us everyday for 2 and 1/2 years too. It was a long 7 weeks for him when I was on bed rest.
So off we walked. It was going great as no one else was out and Scooter needed some reviewing of leash skills. But alas, an older couple came by with their new puppy. I had seen them before. They were regular walkers too. But they went to feed ducks and usually didn't interact with us at all.
Until that day.
Scooter go so excited to see the new puppy he tore away from me on the leash and went straight for the dog.
The. man. kicked. our. dog.
Scooter backed away. I got him and put him back on the leash. The man said sorry but he was coming for the dog. I mumbled I'm sorry too as my dog has absolutely no manners. I, embarrassed went on my way. I probably had more than my share of hormones, stress and post partum going on and I cried (wailed)all the way for the rest of the walk. Sadly, it solidified our decision that Scooter did in fact did need a new home that could walk him and actually give him the attention that he deserved. So Scooter found a amazing new home soon after that.

But now, every time I see that man- I call him "The Dog Kicker."
In not a nice way

Captains log..

Well it's really potty training log. Not everything but some of the notable highlights. Here goes:

July 25, 2009
Change into big girl panties right after breakfast. Met with some resistance but over all excited. Mother and Father somewhat tired after night of wrangling babies, but proceed with hopes high.

9:01 Big accident. Need some "Resolve." All parties changed and clean.

9:10 Daughter asked to go potty. Met with big resistance "NO!!!!" "Noooaaawwwaooooooo"

10:03 Accident involving code brown. And crying lots of crying. Mother recovered after her crying episode with sugar and a shot of Coke. Father continued to wrestle babies who are going through a growth spurt.

11:27 The flood of '09 Good thing we have laminate in some places in our house.

Nap time: "Nap time" panties put on and remain dry for entire nap time. Captain's hopes return again.

4:45 Asked to go potty and " The cup incident" will go down as a heroic attempt by parents to remain calm in the face of difficult 2 year old adversary.

7:03 bed time (Parents give up and put daughter to bed early.)

Captains log July 26, 2009

Up in big girl panties right after waking up. Negotiations are discussed about the wearing of pajama pants. Demands are met and countered. If jammies are worn them sitting on potty must happen now. All parties resolved conflict and happy celebration resulted after effort was successful.

8:32 Asked if potty was needed. "NO!!!!!!!"
8:33 Daughter said "potty" and ran to the bathroom to be assisted by mother.
8:34 Target reached
8:35 Potty parting broke out all over Ludlow residence.

9:23 Asked if needed to go potty. Met with extreme resistance
9:24 Mother marched daughter to potty and wrestled 2 year old
9:25 Potty goal reached. Tears replaced by spontaneous potty party!

Successes until nap time.
Put on nap time diaper and put daughter to bed.
5 Minutes later: daughter expresses need to go potty from bed.
Potty success!!!!!!

Nap time diaper dry after nap
2 more successful attempts
Trip to Target contemplated for whole family

Two daughters remain clean after Target trip. One parent has poo, one daughter has blowout diaper. Two year old ( and mother) remains dry!!!!!!

Captains log July 27, 2009

Somewhat dryish diaper in the morning and change into big girl panties right away.
Captain has laps in judgement and mistakenly takes shower. Sees results all over bathroom floor. Clean up committee is formed and new attempts are made at keeping up dry pants relations.

To be continued....

Fast!!!

We put the house one the market on Tuesday and had an offer on Wednesday!
We are still in "talks" so nothing finalized yet, but really exciting!!!!!
We also put a offer on another house. Still in College Station, but a bit bigger.
Having 3 kids really makes the house get small fast!
Did you know that it takes a really long time from putting in an offer to closing on a house? Longer than you think. And it especially seems long when you want to move right away.

Cause we need more projects

Have I mentioned that we are tired here at the Ludlow Bungalow?
Well we are. And because we are so tired we've decided to add just one more thing on our plate. You know besides entertaining, feeding, diapering, toilet training, bouncing screaming babies, dancing, and burping three girls. We are going to move.
Now if you have ever moved you know this one fact- Moving is not just one project, but MANY Many many ones.
We have an older home and have done LOTS of remodeling and redecorating to the house already. We have painted EVERY surface in the house and out, and we replaced EVERY light fixture and we have demolished some very funky lattice work and dry wall. We (not personally but had it done) replaced all the flooring and we replaced every door in our house. All of that in 9 years!

So because of our decision to move we have to get the house ready. And we've been finishing up those last minute details that we've lived with but can't sell a house with out them fixed. Just some caulking and paint mostly, but harder than you thing with three little ones around. ( I paint mama!)

Yup that's us. Gluttons for punishment.
Cause where would our excitement be if we didn't have just one more project?

Family

I love a good family visit. Everyone chats and other people besides myself get to hold babies. We all met at Messina Hoff for good food, wine, and conversation. We have a few more family members this time around. (Mostly John and I adding two more!)

Lack of...

Well, not sleep if that's what you're thinking. So I read that the AVERAGE baby will cry for at last TWO HOURS a day.

So times that by two.

And now you have lack of sleep.

And lack of sleep really makes for not so many funny moments. And lots of time spent retyping blog posts.

Muffins

Gianna and I made some muffins on our baking day on Friday. I had a very good helper and we enjoyed eating the results!

Gianna really enjoyed the muffin tops. Just the tops.

Baby Shower x's 2!

I had a BLAST at the Baby shower for Elizabeth and Cosette. I have some wonderful friends that wanted to bless us and the girls. We got together on a Monday night and just had some fun girl time! I have never seen the fireside room look so GREAT.

Thanks Shay, Angela, Jenny, Tara and Sara!
(Shay was taking the pictures and I didn't think of getting on with all of us!)
They made me promise not to send out thank you cards. So here is a BIG THANK YOU to all who came and blessed us.

These Ladies just had babies and they came out to celebrate us! (don't they look AMAZING!?!?!?) They both had girls- friends for E and C!

Big Girl

It's official we have a big girl!
Here are some pictures of her new big girl room:

I made the blanket and the curtains. I have the bed skirt, two more curtains panels, and to finish her blanket/quilt left to go.

I sew them on Saturday mornings while the little girls "sleep" and John watches Gianna. So far the little girls don't really "sleep" on Saturday mornings. They play wake up every 7 minutes so it makes for a really long morning of trying to sew!

Happy 4th!

Have you tried to get 3 kids to look at the camera at the same time and have everyone look good? Especially with a 2 year old who has an opinion. And setting the timer.
It's harder than it looks.

Like herding cats.

Happy 4th!

And now: "The Coze"

"The Coze" is our nickname for Cosette.
We finally got this picture. So we have a picture of all of them in this pose.
