Technical

Not so much difficulties per se, but more of I got some new tech things from John this week and I need more time to figure them out and how I can use them in this blog that I (almost) faithfully update Monday through Friday for your at work diversion.
So I leave you with a not so much oldie but goodie pic:

While Gianna's Away...

...The babies will play!
We've been enjoying just hanging out together without big sister. One less person to share with and more one-on-one time with mommy!

It has been a joy to "get to know" E and C a bit better. They are so much fun and really enjoy going on errands with me. But they especially like that they get to read more books with mommy! We miss her, but extra hugs from mommy are worth it!

Crafty Like a Fox

I've been doing some fun crafts lately and having a blast. Here are my latest attempts:
All the after shot because I did not take a before!

I spray painted our knife block with oil rubbed bronze, and put a letter on it.
It blends in so well in our kitchen and just works. Totally lifted from here.

Our "Welcome" had worn off but not out! So I printed out a pretty font from Word, x-acto knifed it out and stenciled Ludlow on.

My totally fun amazing project. Inspired from here. I am totally in love with the end results!
It was fun getting the letters with the girls and then decorating them and crafting them up.

I went totally frugal and made this from corn husks that I took from corn we ate and recycled a picture frame that I wasn't using! Thanks Martha!

A Birthday Celebration

I celebrate John's birthday today. It was REALLY September 11, but since he makes up what day he wants to celebrate (his facebook birthday is not his REAL birthday), I knew I could get away with picking any day and celebrating.
We celebrated by going to the Kolache festival in Caldwell Texas. Short and sweet because the babies stared to break down after 2 hours, but a fun time was had by all.

It was his birthday so I humored him with a picture by the port-a-potties. Next year I may not be so nice.

G up and down the city hall steps after we ate our Kolaches. We picked the longest line to get kolaches from. I thought- they must know something about the quality of these kolaches. And they did- they were good. Yummm Cream cheese!

Was I ready for this? No I was not. I usually have a rule about no getting on a ride that folds up and can be packed away, but ... I caved...

G L.O.V.E.D. the train And she go a very special train whistle that can only be blown outside. (wink wink)
Oh and Cosette learned how to use it on the way home too. What talent. A 16 month old already playing an instrument!

E and C hanging out with friends. The break down happened a just moments after this. (mine happened in the car you know- right about 3 minutes after Cosette learned how to blow the train whistle.

John with his favorite cake- Chocolate chip cookie cake.
Happy Birthday John Dear!!!!!!!!

Psalm 34:18-20

18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 A righteous man may have many troubles,
but the LORD delivers him from them all;

20 he protects all his bones,
not one of them will be broken.

Girls on Bikes

We are super loving our cul de sac. It's been a cool 95 degrees the past few evenings and we enjoyed them outside. I know cool and 95 don't usually go together, but when the humidity is down and the heat from the pavement is not as hot as it usually is- it's cool!!!!

Calm My Anxious Heart

I'm leading a Bible Study this semester church. I am leading with a good friend and it was a great first day.
I was blessed by hearing everyone's excitement about the study and from another lady bringing snacks out of the blue- because mine were sitting on the counter at home all safe and stuff!
But my biggest take away this week was actually before the study started, at the leaders meeting.
While chatting with wise Titus 2 lady she responded to me,

"You either believe God or you don't."

And let me tell you that has been rocking my world since Sunday night.
I'll let you think about that for today.

I'm Offended

That's right I'm spitting mad and I'm upset, and I'm gonna tell you all about it.
So you are on facebook right? Right? It's like the totally coolest and most hip thing to do. You can talk to your friends during nap time and never have to listen on edge for the phone to ring.
Facebook is so cute, they are always suggesting you "like" this, or you "friend" this person. They even give me suggestions on how to find MORE friends. They are ALWAYS telling me what do do!
Well, I just got back from checking on my peeps, and what do you think I saw?
Advertising just for me. Wow. They take all my demographic info and give me relevant, needed advertising. I mean who doesn't want to know how to get a degree on line, and see all about the new M&M's, or hear about the newest must watch movie about another self-absorbed-person-living-out-her-humanistic-one-of-many-path-to-god's-Julia-Roberts-movie (that's right, I'm talking to you Eat Pray Love.)?
Sorry back to my original rant, they know all about me. They have my school information, my birthday info, and I'm sure I had to give my blood type somewhere in there.
But they gave me an advertisement that I just won't forgive them for-

Look good in a maternity dress.
On SALE even!!!!!

I may go eat another chocolate chip cookie to make myself feel better.
Because still after 16 months of caring for twins I STILL NEED the maternity dress.

Just how did THEY know that?!?!?!?!?

Team Work

How do you climb a slide?

With a little sister power, of course!

A hug,

A little push,

A word of encouragement,

And a push on the tush!

Hurray we did it!

Visitor

We had a visitor come by the other day while we were eating lunch. Gianna wanted nothing to do with him. I moved the grill to get a better look (to take a picture for the blog) and he was scarred. We watched him from the safety of the playroom, but he did not move an inch! We left him alone and he was gone by the end of nap time.

Sweet Sisters!

What we did this weekend:

We painted the "spotty pink" walls and changed it to solid pink. I know it may or may not be in the same shade as a certain pink tummy medicine, but hey, it's a little girls dream right?
We left the spotty pink on the accent wall and just added the diamonds.

Thanks JP for the diamond inspiration!

I am so happy with the way it turned out. The diamonds on the cornice gave John and I, a hard math time. but they ended up look so great! The wall was SUPER easy.
Gianna loves it. She has told me every day.
But the first day well, she said she didn't want diamonds anymore. "I think I want stars."
Gianna I painted diamonds so it's going to stay diamonds. "Oh. I like diamonds... but can I have stars?"

First Day of School 2010

Today was a long awaited day for Gianna and this momma. The summer was fun, good, and restful, but we were all ready to get beck into the swing of "normal" and routine. Especially since this momma has run out of ideas to entertain her big preschool girl!

Excited and ready to go

Mrs. Sarah Acorn teacher

Issiah 61:3
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.

My little Acorn.

This momma is not ready for the oak tree just quite yet.
I did tear up a bit.
Ready for the adventure of growing up together my little one.

16 months

At 16 months
Cosette you can

Almost walk. You are taking more and more steps everyday. (but since this update is a week late You are a FULL time WALKER!!!!!!) You can shake your head no, say: ball, bow and try to say dog. You are trying to use your fork, but still prefer your hands. You are a sweet girl. When you see your sisters lovey you will crawl across the room to give it to her. You like to be held still and will find any willing adult to hold you when momma has her hands full. You like to be where the big girls are. And part of all the fun. You have a smile that will melt me every time. Those dimples are my joy. You love dress up. You started when you were 15 months old. You find anything that looks like it could be used as decoration on your body, bows, head bands, bracelet, necklaces, and Gianna's dress-up clothes, and you desire it to be on your body RIGHT NOW! You have a tendency to find (take) a toy that is in the hands of another sister.
You like books and will back up your hiney until it hits my lap and woe to the sister who does not make room for you! You can turn the pages and you love to find your belly!

Elizabeth you can

Are standing and not yet ready to walk. You are just content to stand and that's it. Except for trying to climb every piece of furniture in the house. You like to climb to sit on the rocking chair, on top of the couch, on top of your sisters bed. And you are not content just to be up there. You HAVE to stand on these things. And I've caught you a couple of times trying to stand on the little table. I find you on the top of your sister stool in the bathroom. Or even the step stool in the kitchen.

You fuss for long enough and Momma will find you. You know where your head, belly and momma's nose are. You are getting better using your fork and you can sign more and finished as well as sake your head no. But woe to the sister who takes a toy away from you. Fists of Furry is your cage fighting name. You LOVE to smile. I love making you laugh and tickling you. You enjoy books and have a favorite: What's that baby?
