First Birthday Party Cakes

I wanted to post these pictures of the Girls' cake for their first birthday party. I have a good time making them even with running out of powdered sugar to make enough icing. My mom helped out and smoothed the cakes.
Cake for all!

Elizabeth's personal cake. I made hers purple because that's her color. Plus it was a pink and purple party!

Cosette's in pink! That's how I know what bowl, spoon, or cup to give to each girl. It helps us figure out who gets what and how much everybody eats.

They enjoyed the results!

5 to 0

Now as a twin mom I am intrigued by this:
Not telling what twin is older, (weird picture of Rebecca Ramijn warning)
It is HARD not to compare the children to each other. I think other parents do it too. With twins you have a subject and a control RIGHT next to each other!!!!!!

But throwing all that aside-

Cosette FIVE teeth

Elizabeth ZERO

*** Update***
Elizabeth got a tooth today!!!!!

New is new

We here at the Ludlow Casa are settling in. That means that we have officially gone through every box in our house! We still have a few to unpack (it's just the china so don't be all "I unpacked all my boxes in my house before we even moved in" 'K?), but have officially heaped in piles- keep, trash, and garage sale.
Let me just say, wow! I will always be in awe of professional organizers. I have even done a craft project. I found my hot glue gun! It was fun.
I think I'll do a few more- so done with blogging and on to crafting. Yea glue guns!

Beach Baby!

Fashion model in the making.
We went down to my parents house in Galveston when my mom was here. Gianna now asks to go to the beach quite often! She LOVED it. She especially liked walking on the piers and running away from waves.

Generations

One of the most special things about the babies turning one is that MY Granny got to come for a visit with my aunt. We now have room enough for a guest room! But the most precious thing of all was seeing my Granny holding the two youngest granddaughters. And Cosette has the same middle name- Marie.
We love you Great Granny!

3 is 3

Did you know that three year olds can squeal in a tone that only deaf dogs and tired mommies can hear?
I found out SEVERAL times today.
3 year olds also like to talk back or begin each sentence with, "I just..."
3 year olds are old enough to have chapter books be read to them and they sit still long enough for you to cuddle with them and promise a picture on the next page.
3 year olds definitely like to scream and make baby noises like their little sisters.
3 year olds need reminding to use their words and not just baby noises.
3 year olds are GREAT helpers. They can pick up so many more things off the floor because they are closer to it than mommy.
3 year olds like to pour the soap in the washing machine.
3 year olds might be getting tired of Sesame Street-mommy's favorite.
3 year olds say, "I love you TOO." When told they are loved.
3 year olds are so big! and sometimes so LOUD!

Nutrition

Some days I rock the nutritional chart for my children. Like this morning when we all had omelets (made by my wonderful husband!!!!), with bell peppers, meat, and cheese. We also had a side of fruit salad mixed with organic yogurt. Almost all of the food groups in one meal- I rock.

And sometimes I don't.
Like today for lunch. When we had Nilla waffers and Sam's samples in the cart while I shopped.
I had to make up the missing carbs from this morning, right?

Right?

we found it!!!

We found the cord!!!!
So where are pictures?
I can't find it again. Ahh the joys of unpacking!
But what I have found are some pretty special things that I felt ten years ago that I could NOT give up.
I've found:
My high school diploma.
A doll with crazy hair.
Several dolls that are now being passed to a new generation.
My Cinderella collection that really was a a very random thing to collect
Lots of old papers that are now being recycled into new coloring pages!
My old teaching things.
LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of books. I think I still have to find a place for about 50+ of them.
Did I mention that I used to be a Pre-K teacher?
John's baseball cards
Several shoes without a mate. I keep thinking that I'll find the other one eventually. I may have to give up that dream.
Lots and lots and lots of baby girl clothes.

Garage sale soon!

House a Home?

When does this happen? I am so ready. The upside is that so many things have shown themselves as not needed in our lives.
The downside is that the things we do need often time don't have a home yet. We are still working on it slowly slowly slowly.
Gianna and the babies have done so great. They have loved the new house and Gianna L-O-V-E-S her new sand box.
Keep unpacking and keep going. That's what we've been up to.

12 Months!

(picture to follow when cord is found yada yada yada you know the drill)
FOUND!

Elizabeth and Cosette you are ONE YEAR OLD!!!!! I truly cannot believe that you have grown this much and come so far.

We went to the doctor today and you both got one shot in each leg :( But you are such troopers!
Cosette
17.2 pounds
Elizabeth
15.2 pounds
Of course they got weighed with their clothes and diapers on but still! You are wearing size 3 diapers but they are a little big. I'm not turning your car seats around yet. Gianna still entertains you and that's fine by me.
We celebrated you this morning by going into your room and singing. You both liked it and gave us BIG smiles. Gianna came in too and we all enjoyed a laugh.
Elizabeth you wave. I love it so much. You open and close your little hand. You KNOW when and how to use it. You just say dad so far, but I KNOW mama is what you mean when you look at me with your eyes.

You crawl when you want to, but mostly you like to sit all lady like and play with the toys around you. Very content. You have decided you don't like formula. Maybe the 2 pound difference? You love broccoli- yea! But don't care much for slippery foods.

Cosette
You are a FAST FAST FAST crawler. You like to talk and talk LOUD! You make sure your voice is heard. You are always fun and search out the fun. YOu LOVE to eat and LOVE to be held and let us know all about it when something happens you are not a fan of. You are ready for fun and you love to follow after big sister and play games with her.

I love you my babies. You will ALWAYS be my babies. No matter how big you are. I think I'm glad for the fun of the next year to see what new adventures await all of us. You have brought me so much joy, so much laughter, and many many tears (all kinds) this first year. I am so glad that we have been blessed- pressed down, shaken together and running over!

1 Samuel
26 and she said to him, "As surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the LORD. 27 I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. 28 So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there.

Thank you Lord for answered prayers!
