Post Office- code for HELL?!?!?!?

Let me tell you about the adventure that Gianna and I had today at the post office. It all started when I needed to mail a few things and return an item (See Ebay addiction post!).
I gathered my things and put them in the car. Now if you have children then you know that your life does indeed change when you have them. I fought long and hard on this one and I lost!
It took us a few minutes to get out the door. I had to run inside for the grocery list, and a toy, and a burp cloth in case she spits up. So I gathered myself, my child and the multitude of things that she requires and balanced them all while getting Gianna into the car seat.
So off we went to first drop off our library books and then to the post office and then to the grocery store. I really like efficiency and this was the best traffic route.
Library books check.
Post office- parking lot overly crowded- not a good sign I tell Gianna.
Let me tell you why. The College Station Post office is notoriously slow. Amazingly so. Molasses in winter go faster than these folks.
We get out and get our packages and spend the next 10 minutes sorting through the car to try to find out where I put the letter I needed to mail too. Car seat, no, trunk, no. Did I leave them at home when I went back inside to get Gianna's toy? I must have because I COULD NOT find them anywhere.
OK new plan- return package, cut off Ebay addiction forever, vow to always know where things are, and grit my teeth for another post office visit.
Then balancing my items and my daughter I get inside and the line is out the door! Oh no. I look around and realize I have made a fatal Post office mistake. I actually needed to talk to the attendant. Plan change. Just go to the electronic thing. Skip talking because I have to go back anyway once I find those missing letters anyway. I decide to get a box from inside the post office where a large collective anger/hate vibe hangs over the room. People are curious about my apparently bypassing the line, but I'm also the only thing moving in the whole place! So I fill out the box and take it to the electronic machine, but I must have hit something wrong because it said $8.75. What??? I'm not paying that much for a Ebay return. New plan go home look up post office online, and again vow to end Ebay addiction FOREVER.
Well, at least when I got home, I found my letters- right in the diaper bag the whole time. Where I put them so I would be able to get them easily.
ARRRRRGGGGGGG!

I hate days like that...it always seems that you get to the end of them and don't even know what you accomplished! Hope today is better!

You give that six pack lady a run for her money on a really funny blog. Yes, I hate the C.S P.O. To date I have never found a time of day (any day) where the line wasn't that long and not moving!
