Warning this blog is neither cute nor heart warming. It's just how I'm feeling.
I read this article this morning. And let me tell you- it got my blood boiling.
For someone to say that another person is "just too disturbing to look at." Is morally and ethnically WRONG!
Sure there can be some question about if her husband is always appropriate in "showing her off" as a result of a drunk driver. But when it comes down to it- She is a PERSON and had every right to attend that state fair just like the rest of us.
And by the way the 16 year old who shattered her life got just 90 days in prison. His punishment should be to take Rose to and from every event, and to stand by her side when he tells the story of what happened.
Asking her to leave is called discrimination and it is WRONG! If you are offended look in a different direction, educate your young children about the dangers of alcohol, or smile a sad smile knowing that a man has dedicated the last TWENTY YEARS of his life to a woman who cannot fully engage him or even say "I love you" in return.

This story goes to the root of the attitude of today's population who
thinks that something that is "too offensive" should be removed. It's more
convenient to put it out of sight, and pretend it doesn't exist.
While we're on the soapbox, this is exactly why abortion is allowed -
convenience.
It amazes me to hear people comment that Sarah Palin should have aborted
her little "Trig" simply because he has an extra chromosome.
Convenience.
For whom? It sure as heck isn't convenient for the little baby, is it? It
sure isn't convenient for this lady who has had to endure a lifetime of
separation simply it was convenient for others to not have to see her in
her condition.
Convenience.
Sometimes it is hard to take a stand, and more convenient to stand aside
and pretend it doesn't exist, but how are we going to answer when it comes
time to answer that question, "...and what did you do for the least of
these?
Convenience.
Cut and run. It is not a popular theme to stand fast, but if it weren't
for those who willingly give their lives on a daily basis to stop
terrorism, where would we be?
Convenience.
Endure years and years of solitude confinement at the hands of an enemy,
only to hear some wanting to cut and run, because they think that the
price is too high?
Convenience.
It's time to realize that sometimes convenience isn't all it's cracked up
to be. There is something so be said for working through the inconvenient
times. It's called CHARACTER!
Persons with CHARACTER would look on those who have a limitation like Rose
Harn, and see the person who lives inside, not what she lives in, but then
it's more CONVENIENT to look away, and pretend it doesn't exist.
I absolutely agree with you, Charissa!
