As Charissa mentioned, Gianna is now 2 months old. And as she was on my lap today I realized....
I didn't get a picture of her the first time she looked at me and smiled.....
I didn't get the picture of her when she did that great early morning stretch....
Nor did I capture that smile on Charissa's face when she told me how much she loves being a mommy while holding a naked Gianna....
Many moments of her being a baby I missed on film, video, blog, etc. But my memories of her are already so sweet. I see what they mean how fast they grow and how hard it is to remember. I can't believe she was too small for premy clothes not too long ago. I thanked God today for missing those moments on film. Because those moments might be all the better because I lived in the moment with perfect bliss and not scrambling to create evidence of it. We take a ton of great pics and so glad we do.....
..... but I also don't need them to remember the warmth her face does to me. I love our little girl.

Our Little Miracle
This week I got a call from Dr. Roach's office. (She is the amazing Doctor who is in the business of making miracles and helped us with ours.) She called because it had been a few weeks from my due date and they wanted to know how every thing was going. I told them about how she came early, how she was so tiny and came feet first, but that now she is fine and wonderful.
An update on the Doctor: We didn't get to go due to a family funeral, but have rescheduled and I'll let you know all the updates on March 23.
And it's official- I'm a full time Mommy. Sad to leave the boys that I worked with and the good friends, but hanging with Baby G is a BLAST!
Then it hit me- Gianna is 2 months old!
She is amazing and so much fun to watch grow up every single day. I KNOW that she grew between the 2 am and the 4 am feeding last night! I cannot believe how much I love our little girl. John and I discussed that it surprises us that each day we can love her more. I get to tell her I love her all the time, and be her Mommy and be there for all of her firsts.
So these are pictures of her at 2 months doing what she just learned how to do:
SMILE!!!!

A Mommy Update

Well you might be wondering what is it like to be a stay at home mom (or domestic engineer as some call it) Here is a break down of my day:
7 am wake up and feed Gianna
7:30 or so eat breakfast and kiss John good bye
8 change Gianna and get ready for a walk
8:30 Return from walk and put sleeping baby down and try to take a shower as fast as possible
8:31 finish showering and check on baby
9 ish check e-mails and friends blogs, check on sleeping baby or try to put her back to sleep
And some time we go run errands until 11 or we wait here until after 10 and nurse and then go run errands.
Another nap time after the 11 feeding and then a nap until 1.
Daddy comes home around 12 and I have lunch with him- Gianna naps
1 wake up change diaper and feed Gianna
1:45 tummy time! and play time with mommy
2 ish nap time again
3-4 wake up from nap and feed Gianna again
4ish to 5 play and wait for Daddy to come home
5:30 go for a walk as a family
6 feed Gianna
6:30 eat dinner
7 Go through bedtime routine : sometimes bath, change into PJ's, feed Gianna, read a book and pray as a family
8 talk to husband
8:15 go in and check on sleeping baby or put her back to sleep
8:30- 9 ish GO TO BED! That's right- we go to bed as early as 8:30 here is why:
10 feed Gianna
11 get up and burp baby or change poopy diaper
1 ish Feed Gianna
4 change poopy diaper and your guessed it- Feed Gianna!!!!
And then the day starts again around 7 the next morning!
So a glimpse in how my life in now measure: by nap length and when the next time to feed Gianna is. But, I love it. It's fun to be able to walk with her and talk about the singing birds. Hold her and let her fall asleep in my arms, and to smell her sweet head and be so glad that I have my wonderful baby girl!
PS: I had to take Gianna to the Doctor on Monday. We thought she had a bad rash along with her baby pimples. Turns out that it was just the baby pimples. But the doctor did weigh her. They did something I did not- TAKE HER DIAPER OFF!!! So she weighed in at 7 lbs and 130z. Who do I owe dinner to?

Parenting is so Hard

How do people complain about this wonderful experience? I came home for lunch. That simple small act is what is captured above. I worked the morning with meetings and hurry and spreadsheets. Then I stepped away from the cubicle, walked to my car, to go where my heart was yearning. At home, awaiting, was my extraordinary wife and the miracle. We ate lunch before realizing our miracle was still awake in her crib. I scooped her up and we headed outside as a family to enjoy the day. We only spent 10-15 minutes out there. Truly one of the best days of my life. And work, work will be there when I arrive in the afternoon.... only for me to countdown the moments til I go home and do it all over again.

And the answer is....
Well, there were some good guesses, but no one hit it right on the mark. So I guess that saves me from buying dinner!!!! She weighs (according to our very scientific calculations and our home scale)
8 lbs and 6 oz!
We go in for her 2 month check up on March 8. I'm sure she will weigh more then.
Here is an old picture so you can see how much she has grown:

Mommy Post
Hi All!
This is the my first official Mommy Post on the blog. John gave me editing rights, but now I want to become an author as well. So for my first post I want to share the cutest pics of us on Valentines Day.
Speaking of Valentines Day: Gianna's due date was on the 15th and WOW- it's amazing that she was still supposed to be inside of me! She was 5 lbs and 8 oz when she was born 6 weeks ago. They told me that she would be about 10 pounds at full term.
So we are going to play a little game- Guess the weight of Gianna NOW. Post your guess and the winner will receive a congratulations and dinner on me when you come to see Gianna. I'll even give you a hint and the picture to use to guess.
HINT: She does not weigh 5 lbs 8 oz any more!!!!
