The Shred
It's been a while since I worked out. Like over a year. Now part of that is because I was on DOCTOR mandated bed rest. And part 'cause I'm lazy. Now that the babies are fully weaned and I'm my own body again (hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ((y'all I'm really that excited))!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I have decided that it's time to- take a deep breath... workout again. I so miss the days when "working out" was just part of normal life. It was build in. I was a cheerleader in HS so I "worked out" every day for three hours a day. But now, I get winded when I have to jump in Gianna's games and when I have to run after a fast crawling baby. (How did they get so fast?) So 'The Shred' it is. It's with Jillian Michaels who is the mean trainer on The Biggest Loser. The show John and I watch with our bowls of ice cream and that Jillian yells at people to work out harder.
Jillian yells and people lose lots of weight. Should be an easy workout routine right? ha ha no.
Totally WRONG. That Jillian is tough. I did the "easy" one with NO weights, and I'm still hot and trying to catch my breath.
But the ice cream I'm eating now is helping me cool off. I'll just shred that tomorrow.

At the Fire Station
We had the chance to go visit a fire station with our playgroup from Sunday School. G and I had a blast. Daddy stayed home with the littles and it was just the big girls. We saw the firemans' doll (the practice rescue dummy), the tall tall ladder, and saw a fireman all dressed up in his gear. G did not want to touch him, but she waved from afar.
I actually really enjoyed the fire station too. When I taught in Bryan, we would go to the fire station every year. I almost had the script memorized. But the good old CS fire Dept. gave a lively tour. Even if they don't have red engines.

Blue Bell the Best Ice Cream In the Country
What do you do when you had great, wonderful, all set plans with a baby sitter included for the little siblings and you are all set to go and pick some fruit, and a huge monstrous monsoon comes and drenches all for 7 hours?
Why you keep going and change the plan to go to Blue Bell instead. Gianna enjoyed watching them make the ice cream and how it gets packaged. We saw some some pink (strawberry) ice cream being made. Thankfully they had strawberry as one of the offerings at the end of the tour. Gianna got the pink ice cream. Was there any doubt?

Nadia, Kerri, or Shannon?
Gianna is in gymnastics this summer with a few of her dear friends. I think she will look back on these days when she is an international super gymnastics star and thank me for enrolling her. :) Please note that she has allowed me to put her hair in piggy tails. O how cute that is!
Thanks for everyone who was concerned about my F.U.N.K It really was a mix of holding a sick baby for 8 hours and not getting enough sleep and a little bit of writers block. So Sleep+healthy baby means no mas F.U.N.K. (But lucky for you- the random punctuation still remains!). Writers block- not sure. I made the lofty goal of posting everyday this year. And you might have guessed that I have not done that all the way. This summer it especially seems hard. So here's to removing the guilt and just enjoying life without having to record every second of it!

Funk
Have you ever been in one?
I've been there lately and it's not been fun.
It's very very hard to write a funny blog post when funny is one of the last things on your mind. Just survival and getting through the day are keys.
I wish that there was a reason an explanation for all this FUNK. But really, there is not. It. just. is.
L.I.F.E.
(apparently you use a lot of punctuation when you are in a "funk.")
So no brilliant story or words to live by, just me in a F.U.N.K.

Fine
Well, fine my Mac. In the three years I have owned you I have never said a disparaging word about you. I don't intend to start now, but for goodness sakes can you pull it together for a bit? Put some wrinkle cream on or something and keep eating. I know your "start up disk is full." But I NEED you to work. My family needs you. My sanity NEEDS you.
Alright do we understand each other?
Ok thanks.
