So I had an eye doctor appointment today. I was only overdue by 4 months. That's a new personal best. Why should maintaining my sight not be a priority? I don't know, but sometimes I'm like- eh- I've had glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since 7th. What new are they going to tell me?
I must tell you that I actually don't really like going to the eye doctor. I really can't stand the eye puff thing they give you every time you go. All you perfect vision people can ... well, be grateful that each year a puff of air does not blow directly into your eye. You can handle the first one, but willingly putting your face up to the puffy thing for the second eye takes a lot of bravery.
They also dilated my eyes.
Things you can do with dilated eyes:
Drive
Shop
Dishes
Things that are difficult to do:
Read texts
Read email
Read how much things cost at Target
So somehow I was ok to drive a 2 ton vehicle and yet not be able to see my hand. The mysteries of science amaze me everyday.
By the way, I found out I'm an excellent candidate for LASIK and my eyes have not changed at all from last year. Take that puffy thing!!!

I totally feel you!! I've gotten 3 postcards telling me I need to go in for my annual eye appt. They've all gone in the trash b/c I am not wanting to go through the exam again. Every.single.year. :-) Congrats on being a good candidate for LASIK! I don't think I get to have that as an option.
:) I have great vision but go in every 2-3 years, for some reason eye apt.s don't bother me that much, while every other dr. apt makes me a nervous freak, I think it's b/c I get to keep my clothes on :)
but anyways yes that puffer thing is the worst and last time I went, I could not make my eye stay open I was trying I really was, in the end the tech decided to skip it b/c it just wasn't happening, all that to say, you're braver than me :)
While I'm with you on the eye puff thing...have not had it in YEARS!! Like literally, like 5-7 years. Now, they numb my eye and use a super cool blue wand thing. They just *doink* it on my eye (which grosses me out) and done. And Austin thinks they're all "high tech". :) On LASIK: if you'd feel better coming back here to have it done I'll totally help out. Easy peasy. James is so happy he did it. Miss you!!!
