You Are 5!!!

Five years old. I want to write about what a kind heart you have, and a tender heart. How you love the color pink and are a girly girl who loves to dress up. I want to mention that you look so grown up, and sometimes it takes my breath away how beautiful God made you, my first born. I want to say how you love to color and do crafts. We are always in the middle of some kind of project. How you love to be the mommy during play time at home and school. And if you only get to be the pretend big sister that your day is not as good as if you get to be the mommy for a long time. I want to write how I'm caught off guard how you understand things, and ask deep probing questions that I don't always have a comfortable answer to. How when you sit in the back seat of the car you see all and hear all. And you know where everything is, I have such a hard time hiding your presents or keeping secrets with you around. How you are a good friend. How you really like to see your friends each day, But...


I'm a little bit selfish and mostly all I can think about is how you have changed me to be a better person. You have given me patience in boatloads. You have helped me to be kinder and more compassionate. You help me to see the world with joy, and wonderment each day. You help me to be excited over little things like making brownies or cookies, and fun extra sweets for no reason. You help me to see that moving is hard on a lot of levels and that everyone is ready for their own space. You keep me on my toes and you keep me humble. You have a knack of living out a lesson I'm struggling with the Lord about. You help me to say sorry quickly when I'm unkind. You do all this mostly without knowing or being aware that you do it. You are a gift "My Joy" a treasure indeed. You are an answered prayer and it is my privilege to help you grow in the knowledge of the Lord everyday. God is Gracious indeed Gianna Joy!
