Ok let's try this again shall we?

After technical difficulties caused a breakup with me and blog press. I've come to the conclusion (ie read the FAQ's) that I was not able to fix and post my posts that -yes I have been writing. So we tried the ol' remove it and start over trick.
So keep your fingers crossed and leave me a message if you think that this blog is worth reading and I'll keep trying.

Our House-a visual tour!

Here are the inside photos. I have none of the outside so when I take those I'll post them!

The far side of our living room

I just turned around and took a pic of the kitchen. The breakfasts room is on the right.

Our master. Keeping it real with the bed unmade. This is actually upstairs. Totally not in order. Oh well come visit and I'll give you a real tour!

The butlers pantry or the bar as we call it! Looking into the laundry room.

Standing in the same place I just turned and took a picture of the dining room.

Upstairs! I've only lived in a house with stairs one other time in my life- I was 3!

Upstairs bath- U-g-l-y it had no alibi. I'll post the painted version soon!

Elizabeth and Cosette's room- with BIG GIRL beds!

Gianna's room!

Back down stairs in the office turned playroom.

Two Kings...

"So, I conclude by saying again today that we have a task and let us go out with a "divine dissatisfaction." Let us be dissatisfied until America will no longer have a high blood pressure of creeds and an anemia of deeds.

Let us be dissatisfied until the tragic walls that separate the outer city of wealth and comfort and the inner city of poverty and despair shall be crushed by the battering rams of the forces of justice. Let us be dissatisfied until those that live on the outskirts of hope are brought into the metropolis of daily security.

Let us be dissatisfied until slums are cast into the junk heaps of history, and every family is living in a decent sanitary home. Let us be dissatisfied until the dark yesterdays of segregated schools will be transformed into bright tomorrows of quality, integrated education.

Let us be dissatisfied until integration is not seen as a problem but as an opportunity to participate in the beauty of diversity.

Let us be dissatisfied until men and women, however black they may be, will be judged on the basis of the content of their character and not on the basis of the color of their skin. Let us be dissatisfied.

Let us be dissatisfied until every state capitol houses a governor who will do justly, who will love mercy and who will walk humbly with his God.

Let us be dissatisfied until from every city hall, justice will roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Let us be dissatisfied until that day when the lion and the lamb shall lie down together and every man will sit under his own vine and fig tree and none shall be afraid. Let us be dissatisfied. And men will recognize that out of one blood God made all men to dwell upon the face of the earth."

-- Martin Luther King Jr., Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Georgia 1967.

This morning we read the story of Jesus dying on the cross for our family devotion time. I didn't make the connection until much later in the day that it was Martin Luther King Day. Do you remember the part of the crucifixion story when the one thief makes fun of Jesus and the other asks for forgiveness? How sad the one missed it. How sad we still have injustice, poverty, and racism. Let me not miss out. Help me to see what is right before my eyes.

Come Lord Jesus, come.

On eye examinations

So I had an eye doctor appointment today. I was only overdue by 4 months. That's a new personal best. Why should maintaining my sight not be a priority? I don't know, but sometimes I'm like- eh- I've had glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since 7th. What new are they going to tell me?
I must tell you that I actually don't really like going to the eye doctor. I really can't stand the eye puff thing they give you every time you go. All you perfect vision people can ... well, be grateful that each year a puff of air does not blow directly into your eye. You can handle the first one, but willingly putting your face up to the puffy thing for the second eye takes a lot of bravery.
They also dilated my eyes.

Things you can do with dilated eyes:
Drive
Shop
Dishes

Things that are difficult to do:
Read texts
Read email
Read how much things cost at Target

So somehow I was ok to drive a 2 ton vehicle and yet not be able to see my hand. The mysteries of science amaze me everyday.
By the way, I found out I'm an excellent candidate for LASIK and my eyes have not changed at all from last year. Take that puffy thing!!!

You Are 5!!!

Five years old. I want to write about what a kind heart you have, and a tender heart. How you love the color pink and are a girly girl who loves to dress up. I want to mention that you look so grown up, and sometimes it takes my breath away how beautiful God made you, my first born. I want to say how you love to color and do crafts. We are always in the middle of some kind of project. How you love to be the mommy during play time at home and school. And if you only get to be the pretend big sister that your day is not as good as if you get to be the mommy for a long time. I want to write how I'm caught off guard how you understand things, and ask deep probing questions that I don't always have a comfortable answer to. How when you sit in the back seat of the car you see all and hear all. And you know where everything is, I have such a hard time hiding your presents or keeping secrets with you around. How you are a good friend. How you really like to see your friends each day, But...

I'm a little bit selfish and mostly all I can think about is how you have changed me to be a better person. You have given me patience in boatloads. You have helped me to be kinder and more compassionate. You help me to see the world with joy, and wonderment each day. You help me to be excited over little things like making brownies or cookies, and fun extra sweets for no reason. You help me to see that moving is hard on a lot of levels and that everyone is ready for their own space. You keep me on my toes and you keep me humble. You have a knack of living out a lesson I'm struggling with the Lord about. You help me to say sorry quickly when I'm unkind. You do all this mostly without knowing or being aware that you do it. You are a gift "My Joy" a treasure indeed. You are an answered prayer and it is my privilege to help you grow in the knowledge of the Lord everyday. God is Gracious indeed Gianna Joy!

Disney!

Yalls we had the best time. We actually went to Disney World. It was beautiful weather and so pretty at Christmas. I totally recommend using Tour Guide Mike. We never had to wait for more than 5 minutes doing what he suggested.

We surprised the girls at the airport. So fun!

First night at Chef Mickeys.

Mission to mars at Epcot

At the train station in Magic Kingdom. I actually remember that tree from when I was a little girl.

Sleeping Beauty in France at Epcot World Showcase.

All dressed up for Animal Kingdom day.

Glamed up and ready for Little Mermaid show at Hollywood studios.

Cinderella meets Cinderella

My little pixies with the famous one.

We really and truly had the best time ever! I thought it was the perfect age to take them. Gianna really talked to each princess and loved them so much. She remembered each story and talked to them about it. And they all said something about each days outfit which made this mommas heart so happy. And to put the cherry on the top Gianna prayed today that she was the thankful that she got to go to DisneyWorld and see the princesses!
